Erik Jones

Hailing from Byron, Michigan, Erik is a first-generation race car driver who ascended the stock car racing ranks to become a multi-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series. A self-described “reserved guy,” Erik lets his competitive spirit speak for itself on the racetrack. He won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship in his first year of full-time NASCAR racing and was named Rookie of the Year in the truck series (2015), the Xfinity Series (2016), and the NASCAR Cup Series (2017).

As a reflective young man, Erik recognizes how fortunate he is to be among the few drivers to fulfill the dream of driving in America’s premier motorsports series. His years of success behind the wheel have allowed him to help others through the Erik Jones Foundation.

With nearly 2 million diagnoses yearly, 600,000 annual deaths, and the reality that 40% of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer, this insidious disease’s impact is nearly universal. For Erik, cancer is a very personal issue. He lost his father to Melanoma in 2016. The foundation’s cancer efforts focus on impacting the preventable forms of the disease.

The US Department of Education states that one in five American adults has “low literacy.” This reality impacts personal income, health, and national economic growth. The #ReadwithErik program helps children embrace reading, ensuring they reach their full potential and preventing the adverse outcomes of illiteracy.

Pet ownership has many benefits for animals and owners alike. From increasing opportunities to exercise, reducing blood pressure, relieving feelings of loneliness, and improving cognitive function in older adults, pet ownership is a win-win for the pet and owner. As a long-time “pet parent,” Erik is passionate about connecting people to pets. The foundation focuses on supporting organizations that promote pet adoption and its benefits.
