Brent Nickola - A Visionary Leader and Passionate Advocate
In January 2023, the Board of Directors hired Brent Nickola as Executive Director. The creation of this position reflects Erik’s and the board’s commitment to achieving their mission. Brent comes to the foundation from the University of Michigan’s Flint campus, where he spent more than two decades as a development and fundraising professional.
During his career, Brent held positions as a Grant Writer, Project Manager, Associate Director for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, and Major Gifts Officer.
His long history of building relationships, creating unique stakeholder experiences, and a personal interest in the racing industry drive the foundation. In addition to his professional experience, Brent has served on the board of several non-profit organizations and held a local elected office. Brent has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Administration.
